Since I started private practice 20 years ago, I have offered sliding scale, discounted and often pro-bono treatments for folks who cannot afford the full cost of treatment. This program is part of my dedication to health equity.
This program invites my whole patient community to participate.
When funds come directly from me and my small business, it is neither sustainable nor just. It carries the sticky weight of charity.
Funds gathered from the community create a clear and more generous financial dynamic and sustainable model for discounted health care.
Community Supported models shift the paradigm from charity to solidarity.
