What do we do when things get heated?
I sure have! This is the time when we MOST need our practices of self love. Self love practices are beyond self-care, spa day type choices. Self love is a real time, practical focus to make us better humans. It is about filling your cup daily so that you are not operating on empty, so your service, your activism, your work in the world comes from a deeper well of self resource.
I often find myself saying that self love practices are not about doing more, they are being more present with what you do, and most specifically about letting yourself be nourished by the world. We don’t actually need anything other than our presence to engage in self-loving ways, we don’t need to buy anything from Amazon to get started. 😃
So many of us are surrounded by nourishing things, simple things, like air and food and friends and water, yet are not fully allowing these things to nourish us — to let them land in us and allow our intelligent bodies to harvest the nutrients needed for mind, body and spirit.
Can you take a little more time to eat your meal, chew your food, and offer your gratitude?
Can you breathe in the hug of a friend, lover, relative or child, take a moment to really let it in?
Can you step outside in the morning and greet the day, take a few deep breaths and give thanks for clean air.?
These are small things, accentuated by the emotions of gratitude, that accumulate throughout the day and add up to a lot. A lot of what we need in the current social climate. Your body needs this, trust me, I know! Be Wholehearted about your personal forms of nourishment.
